Mountain Ridge Lake is taken from Season 23, Episode 3 of The Joy of Painting. I think this was the most relaxing painting I've done so far... I love the look of these mountain fields so much, which may be why I included a picnic on the shore of this one!

Red Sunset is taken from Season 9, Episode 3 of The Joy of Painting. To be very honest, this one was a bit of a struggle (although I like the finished product). I think I repainted the sky 3 times before I was satisfied with it, but I love the way the cabin and the TARDIS turned out!

Western Expanse is taken from Season 6, Episode 11 of The Joy of Painting. This was a fascinating one to attempt as the entire painting was done solely with a palette knife... no brushes at all! It allowed me to really learn the flexibility of the knife as well as giving me a chance to play around with a completely different style and color palette.

Snow Birch is taken from Season 26, Episode 7 of The Joy of Painting. This was a tough one for me; it's not my favorite episode, and I wasn't super-impressed with Bob's finished painting. However, I made some modifications of my own, added in some details, and I think it turned out well!

Cactus at Sunset is taken from Season 8, Episode 10 of The Joy of Painting. My favorite part of this painting was the sunset... it was a completely different method than Bob's standard wash and cloud method, and it turned out beautifully!

Splendor of a Snowy Winter is taken from Season 27, Episode 11 of The Joy of Painting. I spent quite a while fiddling with this one, much longer than usual. This summer was so hot, though, that I thought working on a nice, winter landscape would be just the thing!

Serenity is taken from Season 21, Episode 4 of The Joy of Painting. This one took a few days to finish, and it's been one I've been wanting to attempt for a while now. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and I especially enjoyed painting a purple TARDIS instead of using the standard blue...

Bubbling Mountain Brook is based off of Joy of Painting Season 8 Episode 6. This was the painting I started on Father's day this year, although it took a few days to find the time to finish it.

Windy Waves is based off of Joy of Painting Season 14 Episode 7. Ocean paintings are always fun, and this one was no different! As much as I enjoyed painting the crashing waves, I really liked the way the palm trees came out on this one!

Valley Waterfall is based off of Joy of Painting Season 23 Episode 8. I really like the way this one turned out, and Brittany has already called dibs on the original.

Cypress Swamp is based off of Joy of Painting Season 25 Episode 8. This is the first vertical painting that I've attempted, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Cabin by the Pond is based off of Joy of Painting Season 15 Episode 7. Every time I look at this one, I tend to like it just a little bit more...

Northern Lights is based off of Joy of Painting Season 8 Episode 13. This was my first attempt at using a dark canvas, as well as using transparent colors for the aurora borealis.

Meadow Road is based off of Joy of Painting Season 9 Episode 4. This was the first 16x20 I attempted, and at this point, was the largest painting I had every done.

Winter Frost is my first snow scene, which is based off of Joy of Painting Season 10 Episode 12. I love the way the colors play together in this one.

Surf's Up is one of my most popular paintings and is based off of Joy of Painting Season 9 Episode 2. Bob had his wave crashing against a giant rock, but I thought it worked much better having a TARDIS there instead.

Meadow Brook Surprise is based off of Joy of Painting Season 14 Episode 2. This was my most detailed TARDIS at this point, and I was incredibly pleased with how it turned out.

Grandeur of Summer is based off of Joy of Painting one hour instructional program never actually aired.
I am what you would consider a 'jack of all trades' when it comes to the creative arts. I am a professional photographer, a web designer, an iPhone developer, a writer, a videographer, a woodcarver, and a painter.
While I have painted mainly with acrylics, Bob Ross and the Joy of Painting were my inspirations for getting into oil painting, and it's been a fascinating journey!
I hope you enjoy my work; It's incredibly relaxing and cathartic to create, and it's nice knowing that people are enjoying them as well...
